Recollections of Full Years

Helen Herron Taft's memoir begins with her life as a Cincinnati socialite and follows her husband's political ascent through roles including Solicitor General, Governor-General of the Philippines, and ultimately the presidency. Over half the work focuses on the family's Philippine years, with detailed accounts of the political and cultural landscape of the time. Following William Howard Taft's election as the twenty-seventh president, the memoir shifts to the White House from the First Lady's perspective.
